Hi Andre,
thanks for looking into this!
This happens for every request to each newsgroup. On the server side I just activated the debug mode.
The following is logged (over and over again):
Jan 19 14:09:46 nari leafnode[18031]: <GROUP de.comp.sys.mac.programmieren
Jan 19 14:09:46 nari leafnode[18031]: marked group de.comp.sys.mac.programmieren interesting
Jan 19 14:09:46 nari leafnode[18031]: markinterest: de.comp.sys.mac.programmieren touched ctime
Jan 19 14:09:46 nari leafnode[18031]: >211 953 3 955 de.comp.sys.mac.programmieren group selected
Jan 19 14:09:46 nari leafnode[18031]: <GROUP de.comp.sys.mac.programmieren
Jan 19 14:09:46 nari leafnode[18031]: marked group de.comp.sys.mac.programmieren interesting
Jan 19 14:09:46 nari leafnode[18031]: markinterest: de.comp.sys.mac.programmieren touched ctime
Jan 19 14:09:46 nari leafnode[18031]: >211 953 3 955 de.comp.sys.mac.programmieren group selected
Jan 19 14:09:46 nari leafnode[18031]: <GROUP de.comp.sys.mac.programmieren
So, I think, there is no "XOVER 955-955" command sent? Instead again a group command.
When I connect from MacSoup, the log looks for example like:
Jan 19 14:02:56 nari leafnode[17875]: >200 Leafnode 1.11.11, pleased to meet you!
Jan 19 14:02:56 nari leafnode[17875]: <GROUP comp.sys.mac.system

Jan 19 14:03:01 nari leafnode[17875]: >205 Always happy to serve!
Unfortunately I do not know leafnode that good...
One difference I notice in the leafnode answer to the GROUP command is the suffix " group selected". This is not sent by other nntp servers I guess...
