Bug in Date sorting

I’m building a Usenet archive service and notice that with some groups where I have articles going back into the early 1990’s that Date sorting is not working as expected. I can’t make heads or tails why it only seems to impact some groups and not every group, but attached is an example of the issue. It will sort articles from the early 90’s at the top and “Today” or more current articles end up in the middle of the sort list.

Not all news clients adhere to the standard date format. As a result, the correct conversion is not always possible. Internally, the dates are converted from text to timestamps and these timestamps are used for sorting. If the conversion was not successful by the above, an error may occur in the sorting.

I’ll see if anything can be done about it.
