Par2 repair bug still not fixed on M1 Macs.

Tested on a MacBook Pro M1 Max. cannot repair a downloaded file, regardless of whether Intel or M1 is selected in advanced menu for par decoding.

let me know if you want any debug info or logs from my system.

I have access to numerous M1 Macs so can test it on many different varieties.

In that case, the file is much too damaged and there are simply not enough repair blocks to repair the file. This has nothing to do with Usenapp or PAR library.

You may want to try another news server that has a slightly longer retention or a different takedown policy.

this is a bug with usenapp on M1 Macs. the same file that I can download perfectly on an Intel Mac running usenapp, I cant download on an m1 Mac running the same Usenapp with same settings.

please tell me what you need me to do to help you figure this out.

I can send you videos of both an intel Mac and m1 Mac trying to download the same file, using the same server (giganews) with the same settings.

The Usenapp intel version is exactly the same as the M1 version. It is therefore not possible that there is a bug in Usenapp (M1). Giganews is likely to be inconsistent in providing the content.

its 100% reproducible on M1 Macs, that they always fail and cant repair files (reporting blocks missing).. whereas on Intel Macs it works perfectly with the same file. not just any file. all of them. maybe its a problem somewhere else in the code. can you tell me what I have to do to show you enough details to help you find the issue?

I don’t have seen or heard this issue from anyone else, but if you send me a NZB file that fails on M1 only then I’ll look into it.

I’m thinking my problems were related to giganews and I’ve now quit them and am using newshosting.

though I’ve used giganews for many years, it seems I’m getting a lot of repair problems and lack of completion. no such problem so far with newshosting.
