New laptop, new problem.

I just purchased a new M1 MacBook Pro replacing my old MacBook and I encountered a problem. In setting up my preferences, when I tested it, it keeps telling me the connection failed. I confirmed that my easynews login and password are correct but it failed using both port 119 and 563 using SSL. Any suggestion?

You probably made a typo in the server settings or your firewall/system tool is blocking the connection.

Nope. I went to the easynews website, logged in fine with same login and password that I am trying to use set up Usenapp. My firewall is also turned off.

Still it is something on your system that blocks the connection.
You can do a test in the server settings and after that open the logfile and send it to me.

Does the test reports any error message on the screen?

Have you installed a “Sophos Home”, “Little Snitch”, “AdGuard”, “Intego” product or something like that?
They can block the connection.

No, the only thing I have added has been a VPN and I have even turned that off and I still have the same problem. In an earlier message you asked me to send you a log file. How do I go about doing that?

Do a server test (Preferences-Servers) and after the test open the logfile in File->Open Logfile.

Also include a screenshot of the server settings and the error message you get after the test.
