In your email you wrote that this concerns posting a message in MegaSearch.
First of all, make sure you have selected the correct news server in the top left dropdown button.
After this you can type the name of the complete newsgroup in the newsgroups field.
For example alt.test.
As soon as you start typing, a list of corresponding newsgroups will appear.
