Problems displaying NG

I’ve done something to my Version of Usenapp v1.17 that means I can’t read or
download anything to
uk.d-i-y NG. When I try to reinstall the NG the installer shows that I am
already subscribed to it, but Usenapp won’t show it in the list of
subscriptions.

Have you accidentally placed the newsgroup in a sub folder? Or maybe changed its name?

If I did that I haven’t got the foggiest idea as to how I did it. How can I check the existence of any sub folder?

You can create folders in the subscription panel, but I assume you haven’t created one.

Still, it is strange that it indicates that the subscription already exists. You probably gave the subscription a different name. Otherwise I wouldn’t know either and you have no choice but to delete the subscriptions and start over.

I deleted both subscriptions, uk..comp.sys.mac and uk.d-i-y and attempted to re-subscribe and start again. But I am unable to re-subscribe as both NG’s are shown as already subscribed. But I can’t get the NG’s to show in the subscribed panel.
What should I do? Delete the programme and reinstall? And how can I install the Serial number as it’s partly blanked out.

What you need to check is whether you have selected the correct server in the pull down menu of the newsgroups.

If you choose for ‘New subscription’ at the bottom of the subscriptions panel a window will open with newsgroups. In the top left of this window is a pulldown menu. Make sure you have selected the correct server here.

If this is all correct then something strange is going on and you will probably have to go back to the factory settings.
