100 connections available, only 5 in use

I’m on gigabit internet. My newsgroup allows 100 connections. Usenapp only uses 5 connections max (set for 100 connections in prefs). Overall ownload speed in Usenapp is less then 1 Mbps but the my internet connection is capable of close to 100 Mbps. I can’t find any reason for the limitation in my preferences setup.

Any ideas?

If you are downloading a lot of small files, select them and use “Merge and Download”.
That will definitely increase the download speed.
