[unknown] And finally, would be good to have this as a menu option so people could more easily set a hot key for it.
Its under "Articles" in the main menu. Hot key: CTRL-SHIFT-R (in editor only)
Andre Thanks.
OK, next challenge: the search in the articles no longer seems to exist. Neither Command F nor Edit > Find works (menu is grayed out). This is reading or editing.

Searching for text in the message reader/editor has been added to Usenapp v1.08.7
Also the wrap is weird. I am getting things like this -- it looks like it just does so many characters and is not splitting at words. Side note: should I be making a separate thread for each of these now that the editor is out of beta?
Weird how you are setting up to "post" just to click a menu item. Can you exp lain the thinking behind that? Seems you grabbed this from existing code of y ours where you are using a bot to post and then just altered the code to poin t to a different site.
Snit Also the wrap is weird
I have not seen this behavior. Can you give me the message ID of the message that splits incorrect, so I can find out the reason for this?

Seeing the same here.

MHP Looks like it’s true - mid: <sb1brn$2ib$1@alanrichardbarker.eternal-september.org>
Does this only happen after you have pasted copied text into the Usenapp editor or also with the text you typed directly in the Usenapp editor?
Andre Good point! I copied some text into a BBEdit window, removed all line feeds and pasted the modified text into Usenapp. I will try again by typing directly into Usenapp and report back.
Andre Alan_B Also happened when I pasted from BBEdit. Will update and see how it goes.
Thanks.

Typing directly into Usenapp and all seems OK. Sorry for the spelling mistakes. I was typing as quickly as possible!
The rewrapping issue for pasted text, should have been fixed in Usenapp v1.08.6 (Build 333)
Andre Thanks 😊
Working fine now. Well done and thanks.
Andre Thank you!
Is there any way to allow for searching of a string across multiple downloaded posts?
With the old search you had I was able to at least hit Command G (find again) and then N (next post) and go through a couple dozen fairly quickly. The new UI does not make that as easy.
(Just tested – seems the build in search is a lot faster than it used to be, or maybe I just have fewer articles… that might serve what I am looking for.)

What you probably mean is that Command-G should not focus on the search-box input, but on the reader so that pressing N becomes a command instead of a text input.
I’ll see what’s possible here.

For technical reasons it will remain as it is now. What you can do is, before using the ‘n’ key, first press the ESC key. This will make the search box disappear and the other hotkeys will work again.
Andre Yes. Thanks for the better wording of what I was looking for. 🙂
Still would love a “smart folder” where I can do a search for, say, “macOS” or “OS X” and it would populate with my messages from a group. Not sure that is something you are considering adding, but I know it would be a benefit for me.
Andre
Means instead of Command G, N, Command G, N … I need to do Command G, enter, escape, N, Command G, enter, escape, N, ….
Not quite as elegant, but also not something I use much. Thanks for looking into it.
Snit
It is: Command G, escape, N
