Almost out of free disk space

Upgraded my tiny little Macbook Air (Intel Late 2019) from 0.9mumble to 1.03.1 A pop-up appears telling me almost out of free disk space 200GB needed 31GB available. Since it came with 128GB does it mean I am out of luck?
The pop-up keeps appearing, stopping everything but quit. On my iMac Pro it is happy, but I cannot find a preference for controlling the free disk limit.

You can change the minimum required disk space in the preferences:

That's a help but the pop-up pops up so quickly I cannot change the setting on the MacBook Air

A single click normally keeps the popup open.
But you say that is not the case on you MacBook Air?

Strange. It is a normal popup button as any other.

I'm OK now. It took many attempts through the 0.5 second gaps to get enough clicks to work. I still think it is a bug

I can open the popup here on Big Sur and it won't close as you say.
Are you on Big Sur? How do the other pop-ups react?

Yes 11.2.3 For the avoidance of doubt, it was the warning that kept re-appearing. Everything else is OK, but then I don't know how to cause another sort of warning to try

Oh the reason was that the alert box kept popping up. That makes the problem a lot clearer. I'll fix it.
