Retain Queue Log after restart

It would be useful to keep the Queue log data after you quit / restart the program. Right now, it’s always empty when you open the program. I am using Usenapp in split screen mode and I have to restart it from time to time. I'd like to see the items that were downloaded without having to dig through my downloads folder.

Yes, it would be great to have the queue of files not yet downloaded retained on exit. This seems essential to me.

They do. If you restart Usenapp, the files not yet downloaded will remain in the queue.
The OP referred to the entries in the log. The log will be cleared after restarting Usenapp. The queue itself is not.

But it’s still the same and to me rather annoying. I still can’t check if I have posted a binary or not, because the log is always cleared and there isn’t a list of past posting like there was in Unison. I’m getting on a bit and more easily forgetting so now it’s reposts galore.

Found it! Jeez, I really hate that light grey stuff. Anyway, I had never looked there before, but indeed, there’s a listing with my old postings, but no binaries, just the messages accompanying them. So now I’m going to check what happens if I post a binary without any explanation, so just files dragged into the window. I wonder if it will show up or not. Thank you, this setup won’t let me repost, but at least I can check a bit.

That’s right. The binaries themselves are not saved. Only the subject of the posting (in case of binaries).

OK, I gave it a try and posted a binary without any accompanying text, I even set the Signature to None. So only files in the right side posting window and a Subject entered.

Posted fina and files showed up within a minute in the Subscription window, but NOT in the Sent queue. Hence there’s no easy way to check for doubles. The Megasearch-route might help with this, but I bet that when the time comes I won’t be bothered and just hit Post, double or not.

Usenapp v1.24 was released today and includes the option to log the queue log entries to a file on disk.
You need to enable this feature in Preferences->Download->Advanced->Enable Queue logging

The entries are logged to a file in your download folder/Logs.
A new log file is created every day.

Thank you very much, but I fail to see the point of this especially when posts with just files won’t show up, subject or no subject. But then I’ll give it a try in case I’m missing something here.

I just posted a fileset with a subject called ‘tt’ and it appears in the log.

Well, I enabled the Queue Logging, but no logfile in my downloads folder yet.

On top of that the last file sets I have posted without any text except for the Subject Line did not appear in the Sent list, so how can they get into the logfile anyway? I mean, if they appear in the Sent list there is no need for a logfile so why not put them in there if possible.

Anyway, haven’t got any files to post, but will look for something later tonight and see what happens.

OK, so I just posted a big binary with only “files”, no signature nor text, but including a Subject line.

Yes, a Logs folder has been created and in it is the log that says the article is posted. Nice and thank you!

But why oh why doesn’t it show up in the Sent list? I rechecked and it’s not there, while that should be the number one place for it to show up because, afteral it is a sent post.

Meaning that if indeed the app knows the posting exists, why can’t it be found in the Sent list?
