Is there a way to set the names of saved files. For example, if I wanted to have the file names be equal to the message ID or posting date & time is there a way to set that? For duplicates having a 2 be added would be a bonus.

This is in reference to the File > Save As for text files... not binary.

The files are currently saved as:
"subject - poster name - posting date - random number"

In this way, no duplicates are possible and it is clear what and who the message came from. Isn't that enough?

I had some where the .eml was not at the end... could be the names were too long (though macOS allows for 255 characters I think). But it is important to not have duplicates... so I can see where having limits on the names makes sense.

Yes, you can select .eml or .txt.
