Newsgroups in Megasearch

When I open a Newsgroup in Megasearch, Megasearch opens every Newsgroup the has part of the original Newsgroup in its name. That renders using Megasearch much harder to use than just searching the Newsgroup.

I there any way to use Megasearch by clicking Open in Megasearch and getting only the Newsgroup I was in?

Yes, that is possible using the prefix "strict:" in the newsgroups search field.

So in your case enter the following in the newsgroups search field:
strict:alt.binaries.e-book

As of the next release, I will have the MegaSearch proposal window use this prefix as well.

I did notice that it doesn't work for posters, however, if you use them together it works well. Unfortunately, there are a lot of Imposters and Username Thieves out there. This will help weed out some/most of them.

That is correct. The 'strict' prefix works for newsgroups only.

MrBill I forgot to mention that sometimes when you click to open a Newsgroup in Megasearch and it is an Erotica Newsgroup

There are 100.000+ newsgroups and it is not possible to know which ones are erotica unless it can be recognized in the name of the newsgroup. That is what Usenapp does, checking the name.

I forgot to mention that sometimes when you click to open a Newsgroup in Megasearch and it is an Erotica Newsgroup, it opens Megasearch as General Newsgroups. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen all the time.
