I check several eBook Newsgroups on Astraweb for various things, about two weeks one poster fake@address.com (Psychopath) vanished from my subscription. Yet according to other Astraweb Users he is still posting as of yesterday. I just did a complete refresh by Trashing the Articles Folder and relaunching Unenapp. He still isn't there, I use him to see when new books from authors that I follow are released. I have checked all three Astraweb Servers. These are the Newgroups that he frequents a.b.e-books and a.b.e-books.flood I am a bit confused.
Let me check that tomorrow.
In the meantime use SuperSearch/MegaSearch to browse the newsgroups. There you'll find all the postings.
I tried that and MegaSearch isn't showing all of the articles MegaSearch: From the Newsreader: Now I am even more confused. If I search for Psycopath in MegaSearch for poster:
You are looking in the wrong newsgroups.
The files are posted in: 1) "alt.binaries.e-book" 2) "alt.binaries.e-book.flood"
NOT: 1) "alt.binaries.e-books" 2) "alt.binaries.e-books.flood"
(note the 's' in e-books)
Thank You, Andre,
I do know what happened, I was having the same issue as someone else with ghost Newsgroups. I restarted Usenapp one day and ended up with a complete set of duplicate Subscriptions. So, I deleted one set of Newsgroup and I deleted the wrong one as the Subscriptions left didn't work properly. I deleted all of the Subscriptions and started all over again. I didn't make a list so I ended up with "books" Subscriptions. This time I did take screenshots of my subscriptions as I couldn't find a way to export that list. After deleting the Articles folder and starting fresh, I used the wrong "books" subscription. Thank you for your help the "book" subscriptions are working. Stay safe and healthy,
Mr. Bill
Good to hear it has been resolved.
