cleaning up the subscription database

I have subscriptions to newsgroups that show in the preferences, newsreader, subscriptions, but not in the (queue) newsreader (megasearch, nzb...) list of subscribed newsgroups. so i deleted all of the subscribed groups trying to clean the database. that left me an empty list of newsgroups that i have subscribed to, but the 'ghost' groups are still listed in the preferences. the ability to add the groups cannot be done because the subscribe window shows them selected.

basically at least some of the newsgroup databases are screwed.

i uninstalled / reinstalled usenapp and the condition continues. i can add remove other newsgroups, but still have about 5 ghost groups that i cannot read, delete ,unsubscribe.

is there a file(s) i can nuke to truly uninstall, so i can truly reinstall what i think is the finest newsreader for the osx platform?

Have you tried moving or deleting the ~/Library/Application Support/Usenapp folder? A new clean settings folder will be created on launching Usenapp.

You can delete the related databases or, as Alan suggests, you can delete the whole configuration and start all over.

1) First close Usenapp.
2) Open Finder and press SHIFT-CMD-G (or in menu Go->Go to Folder)
3) Then in the textfield enter "~/Library/Application Support/Usenapp" (including the tilde ~)

To delete only the newsreader section, you must delete the "articles" folder.

You can also delete all folders / files (except the "Usenapp.key" file) to delete all settings and start with a fresh configuration.
