In the lower left window, where you can sort a post by Date, Poster, or Thread, if sorted by Date, will there be an option to change the sort order? In other words, can one sort by Date but place the most recent reply on top?
That is correct. Ascending is the current order and can't be changed to descending yet.

Sort order is changeable in v0.60.1 This only applies to "date" and "poster" mode.
