Dock icon notifications

Today I've seen the Dock icon show notifications for a moment several times, as it does its ten minute 'get new' cycle. I don't recall ever noticing them before, but that doesn't mean they haven't been there 😀

Is it intentional to have them show? I can't see any utlity or information in having them go up to (in my case) 6 and then down to gone again in quarter of a second. I only use Usenapp for text, and perhaps they are a binary-users' thing?

The counter in the dock shows the same counter as in the top left corner of Usenapp under "Queue".
It shows the total number of items in the queue.

A queue item is created for every subscription that Usenapp checks for new headers.
In other words, if you have 6 subscriptions, the counter will go to 6 and then decrease one for each subscription checked.

Let me know if this is annoying, so I can make it optional.

This dock counter has been added from v 0.80.

They do keep flickering and grabbing my attention.
How about delaying them, so they only show up if they've been in process for say 5 seconds or more?

Building a delay is a lot of work for such an insignificant feature.
What I'll do is add an option to turn off the counter in the dock.
