How do I go about filtering specific posts or posters?

Hi,

You can built rules for this in: Preferences->Rules

There is also a shortcut under your right mouse button to build a rule for the selected poster or subject.

That's what I thought but I couldn't get it to work. Operator error I'm sure but it seemed straight forward.

I really need more info/screenshots to be able to help.

There's a poster in comp.sys.mac.system who I'd like to filter out so his posts don't appear to me and clutter up the group. I set it up as For Messages and Files, If All, Poster is Equal to, and poster's name, Delete. Then saved.

You'll need to apply the filter to filter out the articles that are already downloaded.

You can also try to change the filter to 'contains' and use a part of the poster name. This in case he is using a different email address in each or multiple postings.
