The number of newsgroups is not a static value. In the years newsgroups come and go.
Same for the articles in a group.
The newsgroups list in Usenapp is a straight copy from your news provider. So it cannot be that the numbers of newsgroups is less than in other clients. Unless the list in your other client is an old list.
If you want to make a fair comparison, you have to reset the newsgroups in both your news clients as well as the articles in a group and start all over.
